Saveria's Art Space
My name is Saveria M. C. Giovinazzo. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and have worked as a technical illustrator, a graphic artist, and an art instructor. In retrospect of my journey in the world of art, I came to realize how little instruction was available to students for the basic use of art mediums. Lack of such instruction leaves students intimidated and unwilling to explore the arts on their own. So, I have found that when I offer instruction developed for the purpose of providing fundamental knowledge of an art medium and its applications, students come to find joy in the freedom of having that knowledge. Therefore, many of my classes focus on how to use and apply a variety of mediums, while others focus on various art methods, and some are simply focused on completing themed projects.
My art instruction experience is extensive, having taught art in the surrounding communities for 37 years. I have taught people of all ages, from preschoolers to senior citizens. I have instructed one-on-one private lessons, classes of all sizes, and have provided instruction at large community art events. I have provided one-time activities and workshops, as well as multi-session classes. I have taught for public community enrichment programs and homeschooling enrichment programs. I have taught at numerous establishments, including senior living centers, a cultural community center, a nature center, an art center (currently at the Anton Art Center in Mt. Clemens), and a few art stores. My mission is to continue sharing the world of art with others, as it is a very crucial part of our lives.
Art is all around us. The combination of analytical thinking and creative thought has produced the most beautiful works of art in history, as well as the greatest inventions ever conceived. In general, the process of creating art keeps the brain active, it reduces stress, and it increases one's mental focus. With my art services for in-studio art classes and for off-site art activities at events, I am excited to be a catalyst in providing people a path to exploring the arts and experiencing positive journeys in the world of art!
